In its ongoing celebration of 100 years of supporting the children of Greene County, Beta Tau Delta recently made a contribution to the Jefferson children’s library Guest Reader program. Terry Clark, assistant director and children’s librarian (pictured, left), accepted the contribution presented by Beta Tau Delta treasurer Anita Van Horn.
The Guest Reader program is administered in partnership with the Greene County Elementary School. Each month the library sends a volunteer reader from the community to read a “new” book to the children in each class from pre-kindergarten through the 4th grade.
“We have 38 classes that we visit each month,” commented Clark. “We would like to add to our easy book/picture book collection so we can offer fresh, new books to the children.”
Beta Tau Delta provides funding to a multitude of children’s programs, projects and critical needs throughout the county through local fundraising projects with all proceeds staying in Greene County. Click here to see how you can help.
